FINLAND

Finland is a country located in Northern Europe, bordering Sweden, Norway and Russia. While it is often mistakenly grouped with Scandinavia (Sweden, Denmark and Norway), it actually belongs to the Nordics. The capital city is Helsinki, which is one of the most visited places along with Finnish Lapland. Finland has two official languages, Finnish and Swedish, with Finnish being the majority language. Finnish citizens will speak both of these languages, as Finnish speaking Finns learn Swedish in school and vice versa. Most Finns also speak English and some also German. As a member of the European Union, Finland uses the Euro as its currency and EU visitors can travel freely and use mobile roaming without issues. Finland has a lot to offer, which is convenient because I have a lot to say about it ;) I lived in Finland for almost a year and was lucky enough to explore many parts of the country and experience Finnish culture. Now, I'm excited to share those experiences with you.

Finland through the seasons - when to go where

However, Finland's magic does not disappear when the snow melts and is worth visiting all year around. Each season has something unique to offer, from the colorful autumn trees reflecting in the lakes to blooming trees and the midnight sun.
